I don’t know how many of you follow Challenge 48, but in a prior episode all the members had 48 minutes in total to get from the stairs to do a bungee jump. Ripopo was a crying hilarious mess and her comments were outrageously funny; she was bawling it up saying “Everyone just likes me because I cry! If I don’t bungee jump they’re NEVER gonna call me to do to the show! No one’s gonna like me!” etc. etc.
She failed her challenge (after all was said and done, Ripopo only had like 3 minutes because Sayaka used up like 18 or something), and it was kinda funny but also a bit sad, and it was really nice to see Sayaka give Ripopo a hug and say “There’s no way that’ll happen.”
So in this episode, Ripopo returns for Challenge 48! (Obviously she wasn’t going to get kicked out, but hey, she’s back.)
Today’s challenge was people putting their face next to grotesque animals. All 4 members need a combined 48 seconds. Pretty standard stuff, and I think it’s been done before. Our top batter is Fuuko, and she gets some sort of insect. Like a beetle larva or something like that. She gets around 10 seconds. Her reactions are typical idol stuff–kicking and screaming on the floor, etc.
Mirurun gets to pull next and she draws a python with a special; instead of putting her face next to it, she has to kiss it. What does she do? She makes Jou-chan do it.
But that’s okay, because Jou’s a 13 year old baller. She is gaining my respect rapidly. At first she was being pushed too much and people were kinda against that, but she’s got enormous potential. Prior to NMB she’s never even taken dance classes. But you can see her ace this variety show kinda stuff, she’s super funny, she can handle (and in fact craves) the spotlight. She’s good. I got faith in her.Mirurun pulls again and gets some weird iguana. The iguana is actually in the middle of shedding. The girls tried to cheer on by saying “Yo, it’s just like an old guy!” I dunno if that’s a good comparison. I feel bad for all the old guys out there. Ripopo gets last and gets a frog. I think the only funny thing about this is that the frog looks pissed for some reason. Ripopo ends up getting the last 8 seconds needed to clear the game and avoid habanero shots for all and everyone goes home happy. During the celebration, it looks like Jou almost accidentally punches Ripopo in the face. You know, I’ve never been fan of the oshimen system. But if I had to pick one for Docking 48…
The announcer has totally stole my heart.Megumi has to transport a frog for challenge and successfully does it. Her expressions are awesome. If she had her own show I’d totally watch it.
