I’ve been watching NMB48’s Number Shot recently. I didn’t before because I was kinda lazy and it was only 5 minutes, but then I realized that since Team M / 2nd gen doesn’t get anywhere near as much exposure as Team N, it was a good way to find out more about them. Maybe there’s something more to them.
Or maybe they’re just scrubs.
Well, we can be the judge of that.
On the 02/24/2012 episode, we have ShimaRena. I think she’s a curious case because she was set up to lead 2nd gen before stumbling in that purikura scandal, though she got voted in and is now the Team M captain.
Also, with the introduction of Team M, all the Team N members are now introducing themselves as Team N, instead of NMB48. It’s actually kinda cool, hopefully it’s the start of some friendly in-house rivalry.ShimaRena’s challenge is to write the names of NMB members in kanji after being given their nickname since she’s the captain of Team M. Well, you know who else is a captain in NMB? I feel like Haru has a latent suberi (joke-bombing) queen personality in her. Anyway, ShimaRena gets some right and some wrong and we really don’t learn too much about her anyway. For 03/02/2012 we have Azuma Yuki, whose name I always mess up. I keep thinking it’s Higashi Yutou. I can’t read names, oh well. Yuki’s skill is… locking? I only recognized it was locking because one of my friends is really into it. Unfortunately, Yukiyuki is just a little girl, and Lil B travels internationally to compete. Sorry,
Haru challenges Yuki to use English expressions to be cute or matching or whatever. Well, you know how I feel about Japanese and English. Some of it is pretty adorable though… if you’re into that stuff.I’ll probably be following this show much more closely, as it’s hard to get in touch and learn about the 2nd gen (and now, 3rd gen) when you live in Los Angeles.
