I think it goes without saying that I miss Geinin.
It’s funny because at the conclusion of Geinin they were like “Oh, now that it’s ended we can go back to being idols.”
And I got to thinking… yeah, actually, I don’t really care about idols. Give me my entertainment and jokes all day! But oh well.
So, I guess, on to some news.
-Milky makes the AKB Calendar 2013
Good choice if you ask me. Always need a master fisherman to join the ranks. I am so enamored by Milky’s charms, lol. And it’s weird because it’s not slutty or anything. She’s no Meetan. If only I could somehow get the manly version of that charm and use it on girls.
Interesting to put Sashihara on there. Based on her UZA screentime I thought she’d see a much smaller push but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
And of course there’s good ol’ ponkotsu Paruru. I used to like her at first ’cause she was cute, but then I realized she has no substance and she sucks at performing too.
Good job to Riichan too. I like her because she’s funny.
The calendar is supposed to come with Kami pantsu. Which could mean both “godlike” and “paper”. That kind of disturbs me, almost as much as that one game that had a ton of panty shots and had a limited edition that came with free panties. I don’t remember the game but I remember it got terrible reviews. I want to say it’s Agarest War but I’m not sure.
-Team M reforms, Team BII forms, KKS Togo Sora quits
Team M moved Fuuchan to center, and added Azuma Yuki, Koyanagi Arisa, and Yamamoto Hitomi. Interesting to see Hitomin move up to M, I thought she was a lock for BII because I thought they were trying to promote Shu + Hitomi. I guess not.
Fuuchan moving to center is interesting. Like I’ve said before, she’s cute, but she seems really wooden and devoid of personality. And 15 year old girls aren’t my thing. Maybe she has a latent joke or personality quirk that she has yet to rally around. After all, that’s how Milky electrified everyone by becoming chapuchapu fisherman.
As for BII, I don’t know much about M, I don’t even know how BII is going to get any exposure. But they do have Shu, whose smile and adorableness rivals Jou. She can be my Shu(u)matsu Heroine.
Togo Sora resigned because she wants to concentrate on her studies but most likely she resigned because she didn’t make it into BII. And given the lack of development that occurs outside of N, well, can’t really fault her on that.
-NMB48 Kitagawa Kenji preview PV; AKB48 UZA full PV
The NMB48 PV seems really good for some reason. I’m not sure why. Perhaps it’s the dorkiness contrasted with the bright colors. Maybe because Yui’s there, and we can see chemistry forming between Yui and the rest of NMB48. Maybe it’s because Nana looks so damn cute in this video that my keyboard breaks down and goes hwo0ahyaodh;asighsoad;hbsjghoehrwea. Or maybe it’s the interesting perspective change with the classroom being enormous. Either way, this PV and this single looks to be a real winner. I might rank the song below Junjou U-19, but the fact that it’s in the same breath as U-19 is amazing.
As for UZA, I also think it’s a really good video. For some reason Yuuko looks mega hot in goth makeup, as does Mayu. I’m a bit disturbed at Jurina also looking really good because she’s 15 and yo, they shouldn’t be doing that stuff, lol. The pairings are also interesting, with the except of Mariko/Kojiharu, only because that’s been done before. Yuuko/Milky? Sayanee/Takamina? Even the MayuYuki interaction is great. I’m also fascinated by Sakura because I know nothing about her but every time I see her she looks mega cute. There’s also a simplicity behind the video that I really appreciate because I was sick of long dramas and crap that they had with GM5 and stuff. The only thing I could say I didn’t like was Yui in the military getup. She just looked really odd.
However, I have to say, when I think of the director (Joseph Kahn) and the Halloween theme, it seems pretty familiar to another one of his videos…
